Before moving to northern Michigan in the year 2000, Dale Hull served as the Executive Director of the Grand Rapids Ballet. He has a great deal of interest and experience in the fields of education, the performing arts, and non-profit administration.

In December of 2004, Dale completed a second Master's degree at Central Michigan University, earning an MA in Humanities. His first Master's degree is in Public Administration, granted by Grand Valley State University in 1996. Dale also holds a Bachelor's degree in English and a permanent teaching certificate with the State of Michigan.

In 1981, while serving as a high school teacher of English during the academic year, Dale accepted the summer-time position of General Manager of Community Circle Theatre in Grand Rapids. He was the first to hold that position and managed Circle Theatre through the 1983 season.

Dale left public education in 1984 and worked as a freelance talent on stage, on the air, and in front of the camera, concentrating on industrial films and commercials for the next seven years. He also enjoyed acting in community theatres around West Michigan and serving as the host of Guest Conductor, a radio show on WFGR, the only commercial classical radio station in the State of Michigan.

In 1991, after having served as the President of the Board of Directors of the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, he accepted the position of Fund Development Director there. He was the first to hold that position.

In January of 2000, Dale and his wife, Ruth Ann moved to Petoskey where Dale served as the Executive Director of the Crooked Tree Arts Center. The Arts Center has grown to Anchor Organization status in the State of Michigan, and now serves as the umbrella arts organization for a host of non-profit arts organizations in northern Michigan. Within five years Crooked Tree tripled its membership, doubled its operational budget, and doubled its endowment fund to the current $4 million level.

Hull retired from Crooked Tree Arts Center in 2006, and accepted the challenge of part-time Executive Director for the newly formed Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra, one of the fastest growing arts organizations in northern Michigan. In June of 2008, Dale retired from that position, earned certification as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and now offers his services as a consultant in capacity building, planning, and fund-raising for a variety of non-profit agencies.
